Implementation Guidelines

Carenet Community Groups are currently developing technical implementation guidelines for the adoption of GS1 global standards into healthcare organizations' Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. These guidelines will be announced and posted on the website for members use as they become available.

Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Healthcare transaction sets

Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) version 6010 is the new standard for e-commerce transactions in healthcare. Transaction sets have been and continue to be developed through the working groups of the Canadian Supply Chain Standards Project. 

The Healthcare Technical Standards Work Group has completed the following Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Transaction sets for version 6010:

• Price & Sales Catalogue 832
• Purchase Order (PO)  850
• PO Acknowledgement 855
• Advance Ship Notice (ASN) 856
• Functional Acknowledgement 997
